History
Daniel Swarovski was born in northern Bohemia (now Czech Republic), 20 km from the current border with Poland. His father is a glass cutter and has a small glass factory. It was there that young Swarovski served an apprenticeship, becoming skilled in the art of cutting glass. In 1892 he patented an electric cutting machine that facilitated the production of crystal glass.
In 1895, Swarovski, financier Armand Kosman, and Franz Weis founded the Swarovski company, originally known as A. Kosmann, D. Swarovski & amp; Co. and shortened to KS & amp; Co. The company established a crystal-cutting plant in Wattens, Tyrol (Austria), to take advantage of a local hydro power plant for the energy-intensive grinding process patented by Daniel Swarovski. Swarovski's vision is to make "diamonds for everyone" by making affordable crystals.
In 1899, first used edelweiss flowers in his logo and expanded to France, where he was known as Pierres Taillà © du Tyrol ("Cutting stones from Tyrol"). In 1919, Swarovski founded Tyrolit, carrying milling and polishing equipment from a crystal business to a different market.
In 1935, Swarovski's son Wilhelm created a pair of customized binoculars, which led to the launch of Swarovski Optics 14 years later. Swarovski Optics manufactures optical instruments such as binoculars and telescopes.
Nadja Swarovski, the founder's great-grandson, is a member of the executive board of Swarovski. In 1977, Swarovski entered the jewelry market in the United States.

Products
The Swarovski Crystal range includes lead and miniature crystal glass sculptures, jewelry and couture, home decor, and chandeliers. This is best known for small animal statues.
All statues are marked with logos. The original Swarovski logo is an edelweiss flower, which was replaced by the S.A.L logo. , which was eventually replaced by the current swan logo in 1988.
Crystal glass is produced by melting a mixture of quartz sand, minium, potassium and soda at high temperatures. To create a crystal glass that allows the refraction of light in the rainbow spectrum, Swarovski coats some of its products with a special metal chemical coating. For example, Aurora Borealis, or "AB", gives the surface a rainbow appearance. Other layers are named by the company, including Crystal Transmission, Volcano, Aurum, and Dorado. Coatings can be applied only to parts of an object; the other is double coated, and thus designated AB 2X, Dorado 2X, etc.
In 2004 Swarovski released Xilion, a copyright piece designed to optimize the brilliance of Roses (components with flat backs) and Chatons (diamond pieces).
The Swarovski Group includes Tyrolit (maker of abrasive and cutting tools); Swareflex (reflective and glowing road mark); Signity (synthetic and natural gemstones); and Swarovski Optics (optical instruments such as binoculars and rifle scopes).
In 2014, Tristan da Cunha took out five crown Christmas coins in which instead had a small Swarovski crystal in the guiding star behind one of the magic color images.
Swarovski has created a line of liquid and solid perfume.
The company runs a crystal themed museum, Swarovski Kristallwelten (Crystal Worlds) on the original Wattens site (near Innsbruck, Austria). The Crystal Worlds Center is guarded by a grass-covered head, its mouth is a fountain. The grassy Crystal Worlds Center houses exhibits related to, or inspired by, crystal but excludes explanations of how designs are made, produced or finished.
Swarovski's work is on display at Asian Fashion Jewelery & amp; A Fair Accessory based on the concept of a continuous beam of the fragmented light running through the crystal.
