Guest
"The DP Show," as it is commonly called, features guests from diverse professional surfers to superstar National Football League (NFL), league commissioners to Hollywood comedians. The majority of guests, however, are involved with sports, either current or former athletes, coaches, commissioners or agents. Less often, guests who are not affiliated with the sport will come on the show, although it's common for Patrick to ask at least one sport related question. Guests usually appear when the sport they involve is in season, but may also come before the release of a movie or music album or when the guest name is mentioned in a lot of recent news, such as trading or off-season offenses from the law. Some guests appear throughout the year and some may only appear once a year. Patrick consistently stated he welcomed anyone to come to an event that felt Patrick misrepresented or misquoted them.
This event has attracted famous guests to its show after a hot or controversial event. Patrick was proud that he would not allow guests to come to the event if it was agreed outside the plane, he could only ask certain questions in the air. Patrick has said doing this will only deceive his audience. There was a guest who had canceled his appearance because of Patrick's desire for candor. If she does not agree with guest comments or actions, she does not avoid letting guests and spectators know she has different opinions. This event is trying to attract guests who are on the news today. Non-sports celebrities often appear on the show, including musicians, actors, politicians and comedians. One of the more popular guests, known only as biggiecurls, is a frequent contributor to the DP Show.
Regular guests today include journalists, broadcasters, and former professional trainers and athletes (mostly current broadcasters) working for various media, including Sports Illustrated , Yahoo! Sports, network and cable stations as well as journalists from local media sources that include beats involving teams, players, or leagues in the news at the time.
Some guests can also be described as colleagues or friends of Patrick. It often makes some of the funniest or most revealing moments of the event. Patrick has stated a close professional relationship or friendship with some in the world of sports and media, including: Charles Barkley, who has talked about various problems with Patrick in the air, including gambling addiction and racial issues, as well as funny stories when the two have play golf together, and who might ask when the two are together next; Adam Sandler, whom Patrick would invite on the show to talk about sports or movies, in addition to offering the role of Patrick's film in Sandler movie helps produce; Bob Costas, whom Patrick perceives as a mentor and has honored him as "the best in the business" and sometimes jokes about being annoyed when talking about the Sports Emmy Award Costas has won, even with Patrick nominated in the same category for; and Reggie Miller, whom Patrick will try to organize a dinner or visit to one of Miller's homes in Southern California when Patrick may be on a West Coast tour.
Patrick is known for his criticism, disrespectful interviews, often asking funny hypothetical questions and sometimes making bets with his guests. For example, in January 2006, Patrick made a bet with Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kurt Warner, where if Warner earned Cardinals into the Super Bowl in 2008, then Patrick would personally campaign for Warner to be inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame ( Warner). bring Arizona to the Super Bowl in the 2008 NFL season, and then be inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2017). Another bet Patrick makes is with rap star Nelly, where Nelly says St. Louis Rams will win the Super Bowl in 2007, while Patrick has a pitch. If Patrick wins, he'll name the song on Nelly's next album, and, if Nelly wins, Patrick has to appear in one of Nelly's music videos. St. Louis did not make the playoffs in 2007.

The event began simulcasting live on DirecTV's Audience Network (formerly The 101 Network) in August 2009. The show's website is hosted by Sports Illustrated , which Patrick serves as a senior writer. In October 2009, the rights to Dan Patrick Show were purchased from The Content Factory by DirecTV's sports division, DirecTV Sports Group, which is now producing the show. Premiere Radio continues its role as a distributor.
On October 25, 2010, the show began simulcasting on Fox Sports Net and Comcast Sports Net. The Comcast and Fox Sports Net broadcasts end in July and on October 17, 2012, respectively, although DirecTV continues to carry events on their regional sports network Root sport previously affiliated with FSN. After a short delay, the program began airing on the NBC Sports Network on November 5, 2012. The show aired on NBCSN was subject to preemption by other sporting events, especially the Tour de France in July.
The main studio where the broadcast is broadcast in Milford, Connecticut. The space above the Subway restaurant on River Street and New Haven Avenue in downtown Milford is transformed into an elaborate studio-style studio by DIY Network as part of the "Man Caves" series hosted by former NFLer Tony Siragusa and Jason Cameron of DIY. This studio has several monitors, sports memorabilia, basketball hoop, pinball machine, foosball table, bar with 3 casks and golf simulator. Previous shows have been produced in the attic of Patrick's house in the transition period from ESPN to PRN. In September 2012, the show Monday was broadcast from a studio in New York City during the NFL season. Patrick does this so he will not be disturbed after the Night of Football in America ends on Sunday night. By 2015 by moving from all NBC Sports operations to Stamford including Football Night , the event comes mainly from Milford.
Patrick often told of his ESPN career anecdotes, both in positive and negative light. He often refers to his former employer as "Motherhead" (and more rarely, "ESPeon"), and expressed disappointment with their practice of preventing their talent from appearing as guests on his show, and frustrated when an ESPN employee has agreed to come on the show just for cancel later. In the case of Erin Andrews appearing on the show, he then sent him a message and Patrick later stated in the air that he had been told by ESPN he would no longer be available as a guest for the show. In response, Patrick has used the phrase, "if you are afraid, buy a dog", and on rare occasions an ESPN employee appears on the show, will say, "You do not have a dog." Michael Wilbon, co-host of Pardon the Interruption is the only regular guest of the show from ESPN, which appears several times per year. Mike Golic and Chris Berman are the only other former co-workers to appear on the show since Patrick's departure from ESPN, appearing on the set before the Super Bowl in 2010 and 2013, respectively. (Scott Van Pelt called briefly on one occasion.) Whenever college basketball analyst, Jay Bilas, appeared when he was doing television commentary for CBS during March Madness. Other guests who had developed relationships with Patrick for years and served with Patrick when both were on ESPN included baseball analyst Peter Gammons, whom Patrick called the "Dalai Lama" for his incredible insights from the game. Patrick often speaks directly with ESPN management while on broadcast, mostly after finding the leaked thoughts or news from the guest appearing on his show and then found on the ESPN program or website, without giving credit or mentioning "The Dan" Patrick Show "as Patrick has stated on his show many times that he is less forgiving when his former employer fails to grant credits to guests who appear on his show regularly who may be in direct competition with ESPN, such as Mike Florio ProFootballTalk.com, who may be the first to reported the story and then appeared on The Dan Patrick Show but may be less well known than Patrick.
He has also commented on their history of stealing broken news on his show, and having their own reporter "confirm" such news rather than directly linking it with Patrick's show (this has caused him to coin a sentence, "We're not news, we're sprain news"). Despite making fun of ESPN, he often talks affectionately to his former colleagues, both of whom appear in the air as well as outside.
Danettes
Patrick joins the air by "Danettes": executive producer Paul Pabst ("Paulie"), executive producer Todd Fritz ("Fritzy"), operations director Patrick O'Connor ("Seton"), and shows blogger Andrew Perloff ("McLovin "). Patrick often chatted with his crew about sports, and the discussions would often split onto other topics like current events, entertainment, and their personal lives. Danettes are generally encouraged to speak truthfully and share their true opinions, with Patrick often bringing them in a conversational manner. Patrick has admitted that he was influenced by Howard Stern when putting his staff members into the live broadcast aspect of the show.
In addition to their work on the Dan Patrick Show, Danettes has their own television program; The Box Score airs on DirecTV (otherwise available online) and is performed on the NBC Sports Network until August 16, 2013, immediately after The Dan Patrick Show. Score Box serves as a complementary program for The Dan Patrick Show , collects highlights from the day's events and expands further on the program's behind-the-scenes elements. The 30-minute show features four Danettes and Casey Geraghty, who serve as the host of the program. On 27 November 2013, Geraghty left Box Score and the show was revamped and restored in early 2014. And Patrick himself is not a member of the credited player, although he sometimes makes appearances or short segments of prerecords.
The term "Danette" was given to the crew by former NBA player Reggie Miller.

LVD
In September, 2011, Patrick discovered that there were Dan Nation members carrying signs referring Patrick to College Gameday , an ESPN pregame college show. Although this is not the official segment of The Dan Patrick Show, Dan and Dan Nation called Occupy Gameday (a parody of the Occupy movement) often throughout the radio show and Dan "did not encourage him, but celebrated this". ESPN has reinforced the security of not allowing signs on Gameday Patrick's reference or radio shows, but fans still carry signs on Gameday. There is a current Facebook page for Occupy Gameday made by Dan Nation members and on November 11, 2011, Occupy Gameday is still going on every Saturday and some signs are currently being hung on Mancave.
