Ina, Kapatid, Son (Lit: Mother, Brother, Child /English: Mother's Daughter ) is a 2012 Philippine family drama television series directed by Don M. Cuaresma and Jojo A. Saguin, starring Kim Chiu and Maja Salvador, along with ensemble performers. The series is aired on ABS-CBN and worldwide on The Filipino Channel from October 8, 2012 to June 14, 2013, replacing Lorenzo Time . The show is now aired in Tanzania on Star TV and Kenya at KTN in Africa.
The drama follows the lives of Celyn (Kim Chiu), Margaux (Maja Salvador), Liam (Xian Lim), and Ethan (Enchong Dee) and their struggle for power, family and love.
The show is extended for success in viewership ratings. The second season aired on January 14, 2013 with episodes featuring Celyn's big revelations being the daughters of Julio and Beatriz, while the third and final season aired on March 7, 2013 with the series unlocking a new chapter with time skipping the focus on young adult-stage characters and business competition.
The event also won awards for Best Drama Series at Yahoo OMG 2013! awards, and was nominated in the 27th PMPC Awards as Best Primetime Teleserye 2013.

Plot
Celyn Buenaventura (Kim Chiu) is an ambitious and good working class girl who lives in Cebu with her widowed mother, Theresa Apolinario (Cherry Pie Picache). One day, he received a letter of acceptance from the University of the Philippines Diliman, but Theresa was very angry and refused to let go. Celyn thus traveled alone to Manila, and upon arriving was hired by the carinderia owner, allowing her to sleep in a stall. On the first day of school, Celyn meets Margaux Marasigan (Maja Salvador), daughter Julio (Ariel Rivera) and Beatrice Marasigan (Janice de Belen), owner of the famous shoe company Memorata. Margaux lived the life of an heiress, and Celyn looked at him with admiration. Celyn also met his friends, Ethan Castillo (Enchong Dee) and Liam Lagdameo (Xian Lim); he and Liam initially feel annoyed with each other and he remembers Ethan from a childhood incident where he seems to save his life. Celyn and Margaux eventually became good friends. Celyn discovers that Ethan and Margaux are lovers. Margaux may have lived the life of a princess, but he often worried about his mother's stiffness. Margaux follows everything Beatrice says, but she knows that her family is against Ethan. They keep their relationships secret. Celyn discovers that Liam is very excited with Margaux, who is his best friend. They promise not to tell anyone when Liam also finds Celyn likes Ethan. Beatrice shows Celyn great displeasure because she believes Celyn is changing Margaux, while Julio defends Celyn. Theresa decides to move to Manila with her father, Zacharias (Ronaldo Valdez), and is found by Julio, who faces him and asks where he is taking his biological child. Theresa tried to hide Celyn from Julio, but they had met each other. Ethan's father ran away because Lucas thought he was the one who took the money.
When Margaux and Ethan decide to elope, they are thwarted by Beatrice after Celyn tells him about the escape attempt. Margaux does not believe Celyn will betray him, and their enmity begins. Ethan tries to get Margaux back, but he refuses their relationship, leaving Ethan lonely and depressed. Celyn and Ethan get closer and Ethan confesses his feelings to Celyn. Margaux missed Liam's company, but Liam always tried to defend Celyn every time Margaux taunted him. Celyn was hurt to see how Margaux treated her. Beatrice, who was actually her half sister Theresa through their mother Yolanda, discovered that Julio and Theresa met each other. Angry, he criticized Theresa and the confrontation ensued. Julio then reveals to the shaken Celyn that she is actually their lost daughter, and Beatrice soon regrets hating her.
Beatrice remained opposed to Theresa, and the legal issue of who started Celyn. They agreed that Celyn would stay at Beatrice's house for work and Theresa on weekends. Now graduating, Celyn and Margaux's feud intensified as Margaux became more confident, determined to destroy Celyn who defeated him by vice president of Memorata. Margaux thinks he loves Liam and desperately needs his company, and Celyn forgives Ethan, after a dispute during their graduation. Celyn remained mad at Liam, and Liam confessed his feelings to Celyn. Margaux is jealous of trying to win back Liam. Theresa's cousin, Oscar, has a flashback of Theresa's pregnancy; when the midwife gave birth to twins, she decided to keep it a secret. His original plan was that Beatrice and Julio reared the child after his birth, but Theresa refused, saying that he took the child and thus his mother. After Theresa gave birth, Oscar took one child and gave it to Beatrice as promised. It was revealed that Celyn and Margaux were the twins sent from Theresa, and Zacharias claimed to have designed the exchange, adding he did so to keep the peace between two half sisters. Margaux's hatred of Celyn became more relaxed but dangerous; he is part of the family.
Mio Buenaventura (John Regala), who was the husband of the late Theresa, was revealed to have faked his death and is now seeking revenge. Mio shot Julio, sent him a coma, and while waiting for him at the hospital, Celyn and Margaux reconciled and prayed for their father's recovery. Julio wakes up and gets out, but Mio still threatens them. Theresa finally realizes that Ethan's friend Diego Medina (Alex Medina) - who has been close to her when she returns to university - is Joshua, her long-lost eldest son who had been robbed by Mio years before. Driven by guilt and sadness, Theresa tried to return Diego. Celyn and Ethan spy on Mio's home, trying to find evidence that reinforces their theory of the relationship between him and Diego. Mio arrested them, allowing Ethan to flee and arrest Celyn's hostage, torturing him repeatedly. Mio demanded a very high ransom from Lucas Elizalde, the father of Beatrice, who was Mio's master and thus became his mastermind. Lucas, who wants Mio to die so he does not get involved, agrees and sends her money through Theresa.
In the rescue operation, police fired at Mio while Diego fled, bringing Celyn with him to the abandoned kitchen. Panicked, Diego randomly releases his weapon, causing several LPG tanks to explode and set fire to the room. Margaux tried to save Celyn from the fire, but both were eventually rescued by Liam, while Mio was placed under hospital custody. Lucas is planning to escape Mio because Diego has blackmailed him. After a happy reunion, Liam proposes to Celyn, whom he receives. They all know that Mio has run away, and he visits Theresa again, stabs Liam three times and before disappears once more. Beatriz then planned to flee to Singapore for their safety, and he finally made peace with Theresa one night, amid hugs and tears. Margaux, Theresa, Celyn and Beatrice were later kidnapped by Mio and Diego. Lucas, who had gone into hiding with the two men after being unveiled, saw Beatrice and she sent Yolanda's message at their location. When police reinforcements came, Mio ordered Diego to shoot his own mother, whom he rejected after a nervous breakdown. Angry, Mio attempts to grab a pistol from Diego, and after a struggle pulls the trigger, shoots his son before the desperate Theresa. Diego asked him to forgive him and die, causing Mio to rage in emotional anguish for killing his own son. Theresa managed to escape with the others, but Mio cornered them. He will shoot Theresa when Julio arrives and shoot Mio. They all hugged each other while Ethan and Liam ran to meet them, but Mio stirred and shot Theresa in the back before she was killed by police.
At the hospital, Theresa nearly died, but survived the gunshot wound. The last scene shows Celyn and Margaux over Joshua's grave, saying that they forgive him, and Margaux & amp; Ethan and Celyn & amp; Liam, married to each other. Lucas (Eddie Gutierrez) is in the prison visited by Yolanda (Pilar Pilapil), who forgives him for what he does. Celyn and Margaux were finally pregnant, with Liam and Ethan at their side, and Celyn giving birth, followed by Margaux. The series ends with scenes from all the big families in the church for christening babies, with Celyn and Margaux babies holding hands while their mother's arms.

Production
Conception
Ina, Kapatid, Anak is a family drama directed by Don Cuaresma and Jojo Saguin from the fantasy drama 100 Days to Heaven and written by Danica Domingo from a critically acclaimed melodrama, Tayong Dalawa . The story conference was held on May 11, 2012 where it is officially a green light for production. The idea of ​​this concept stems from the success of the previous ABS-CBN drama, namely Iisa Pa Lamang and Magkaribal both of which focus on the character of upper-class society.
Casting
According to some reports made before by management, the drama should be Andi Eigenmann's comeback project as an actress after her pregnancy, she will star in Jessy Mendiola's opponent. During the pre-production process, Eigenmann and Mendiola were offered a separate project by the network, Andi with Kahit Puso'y Masugatan and Mengiola with Paraiso that they both received caused them to retreat from project. Meanwhile, Enchong Dee remains a part of this series as Ethan, as originally planned, although roles previously given to Martin del Rosario and Joseph Marco are offered elsewhere. After so many delays in production, ABS-CBN tapped into Maja Salvador and Rayver Cruz to play a role previously given to Mendiola and Joseph Marco, but during the filming, the production crew left Cruz characters because they felt that his character was no longer needed. Meanwhile, Kim Chiu and Xian Lim replaced Eigenmann and Del Rosario in casting the last character.
The series marks the reunion of Chiu and Lim as tandem and Chiu and Salvador as rivals after the hugely successful romantic comedy, My Binondo Girl the actress Cherry Pie Picache is also part of, this marks the third time Picache and Chiu work together in one project. It's also a Chiu reunion with Dee and veteran actor Ronaldo Valdez who has worked with her in the Filipino adaptation of the South Korean drama, My Girl. Meanwhile, the drama is the first team on the screen of Dee and Salvador.

Ina Kapatid Anak is one of the top-rated performances of 2013. February 21, 2013 and then, the family drama posted an all-time high rating of <40.4% . His final episode, aired on June 14, 2013, posted a national rating that whistled <42.9% based on the Kantar Media survey.

Cruze airbag controversy
Some viewers of the episode where Celyn and Margaux in a vehicle accident were surprised that the Chevrolet Cruze airbags used on the scene did not spread despite damage to the car depicted.
