Plot
Dave, a merchant for Guitar Hero, and Ronnie, a homemaker mother, are typical couples raising two small children on the outskirts of Chicago. They experience various pressures including redecorating their homes and raising their children. Joey and Lucy are high school lovers with a smart yet naive teenager named Lacey. Their relationship is on the rocks and they even consider the divorce once Lacey goes to college. Jason and Cynthia are neurotic couples who have experienced several unsuccessful attempts to conceive, and Shane, who has just divorced from his wife, has a much younger twenty-year-old girlfriend, Trudy.
At Dave's son's birthday party, Jason and Cynthia, using PowerPoint presentations, announced their troubled marriage and they were considering divorce because they could not have a baby. As a last resort, they have found a couples therapy resort named Eden. The so-called Pelican Package deal is half the normal cost if they can get three other couples to join them. In their presentation, they show beautiful photographs of the sunlit beach and beautiful location. They also convince others that couples therapy is entirely optional.
Dave and Ronnie discuss their inability to leave because of parenting responsibilities and refuse to travel. In the middle of the night, their home security alarm is activated when Jason suddenly appears to further sell the retreat idea. The commotion awakens the children, who hear their parents' conversations because they can not go because of them. Frightened that their parents contemplate the divorce, the children have arranged Dave's father, Jim-Jim's grandfather to nurture so that their parents can go to Eden.
Retreats have been proven to be split into Eden West and Eden East. The West is for couples and uses the "Stay Together" slogan. The East is for singles and uses the tagline "Come Together". Participants from the East and West are not permitted to mingle.
Upon arriving at Eden West, the four couples were shown their villa. At dinner, the host of the Ctanley resort told them that couples therapy, which begins at 6 am, is actually mandatory. If a couple is not present, it will be considered an indication that they want to leave, and a refund for Eden will be granted, although not for their airfare. The group is arguing about what to do. After an indulgent dinner with many delicious meals, they decided to stick with "a few hours" of therapy to enjoy other facilities at the resort.
In the morning, each couple meets with an assigned therapist. All four couples learn that they have problems, even Ronnie and Dave, who think they are okay. They persist with the unusual methods of Marcel resort owners, including swimming with and feeding the lemon shark and yoga sessions with the fun instructor Salvadore.
On the fourth night, Trudy runs off to Eden East. The other seven, driven by Joey who was dissatisfied with his marriage, went to find him. After the debate between Cynthia and Jason, men and women parted ways. As they try to find their way to the resort, the men finally argue and show their respective marriage mistakes.
The women ran to Salvadore who took them to Eden East. The men found the staff room where they found Sctanley playing Guitar Hero. He threatens to report it to Marcel, but Dave challenges him to the game (without telling Sctanley that he's involved in game production). Sctanley, after losing the bet, steered them to Eden East, though he knew he was tricked by Dave.
When they arrived, Dave realized how good he was with Ronnie. He went with him alone at the waterfall. Joey finds Lucy with Salvadore and drops him, reunited with his wife. Cynthia and Jason share a drink and end up being intimate. Shane meets his ex-wife, who claims he still loves her. Shane tells Trudy to stay in Eden East and enjoy singletons, then go with his ex-wife. The four couples returned to Eden West.
Marcel, noticed that the couple had solved their problems, relieved them of the therapy and allowed them to go jet skiing, and with it, greatly enjoyed the rest of their holiday.

Cast
- Vince Vaughn and Malin ÃÆ'â ⬠| kerman as Dave and Ronnie (last name not revealed), a typical suburban couple with two children. Their marriage seems fine, but each of them realizes that Dave tends to weaken Ronnie by crossing emotional boundaries and blocking his needs because of his exhausting work. At the end of their therapy, Marcel gives them as their animal spirit because they are stubborn, and they bear the burden not only their problems but also the problems of others.
- Jon Favreau and Kristin Davis as Joey and Lucy Tanzini, high school lovers who have fallen for their belief that they "miss" after life after high school, have married and become parents soon afterwards and are considering getting a divorce so soon their women go to college. They have a daughter named Lacey who is a bright but rather rebellious teenager. Once reunited in therapy, Marcel gives them a wolf spirit token because they are classy animals but their hearts are always with a fated couple.
- Jason Bateman and Kristen Bell as Jason and Cynthia Smith, the troubled couple whose idea is to go to Eden with their friends. Their problem comes from the lack of complicated communication with Jason's more controlling methods and their problems with babies. They are a very organized and most interested couple to improve their relationship. Marcel gives them a rabbit token after they reunite, because of their innate ability to overcome whatever obstacles are blocking them.
- Love Faizon and Kali Hawk as Shane and Trudy, a couple who are completely opposite the poles. Trudy and Shane are tired of each other because of their age and interests. Trudy goes to a local solo scene, and while trying to find her and bring her back, Shane and his wife Jennifer even reconcile. They are marked by honey bees to symbolize that while they can visit other flowers from time to time, nothing is as sweet as going back to their nest.
- Jean Reno as Marcel, principal therapist, founder and resort operator
- Peter Serafinowicz plays Sctanley (pronounced Stanley, from silent "c"), the British manager of the resort who oversees the couple's lives and is the original scoring champion of Guitar Hero on the island.. (Vaughan DVD commentary explains silence "c" as a simple pleasure)
