Existing Project
FIAFED built elementary school, C.S. Les Huit Colombes , in the remote village of Bungu Bungu in Katanga. Before building a school in this village 5,000, 80% of children are not in school. This new school has a profound impact on the entire population because it is a hope for a better future for the family. Since it opened in 2005, C.S. Les Huit Colombes has about 2,500 children in attendance. For the 2008-2009 session, this school has an impressive record of 630 students. The 2009-2010 and 2010-2011 school years experienced a large drop in enrollment due to the global economic crisis as more than 300 students decided to quit school to work on plantations to help their laid-off parents. Although the tuition fee is free, students can not afford not to work.
A wellness center was also built in Bungu Bungu with the help of the current governor of Katanga, Moise Katumbi. Thousands of lives have been improved through the community health program initiated by IrÃÆ'ène Maloba Kayembe. Le Center de Santà © Moise Katumbi Chapwe was created to help local villagers get easy access to affordable health care. The center is equipped with ten beds, one pharmacy, one lab, two bathrooms and two bathrooms. The staff consists of one doctor, one pharmacist, two nurses and a housekeeper.
In 2009, FIAFED completed the construction of its maternity unit, La MaternitÃÆ' à © Robert Levi in Bungu Bungu. This is an innovative event for this community, especially for women, who no longer need to give birth in a cottage or under a tree. Now these powerful mothers will take advantage of a great maternity center as do other women around Katanga province.
In 2010, FIAFED opened a second elementary school in Katanga province: E.P. Princ̮'̬sse Onda Onda Numbi . Some of the leading business leaders contributed to FIAFED efforts including Governor Moise Katumbi of Katanga who donated 100 newly created desks for schools and Albert Yuma President Chamber of Commerce and Executive Director at TEXAF who donated 100 new school uniforms to the organization. This is the first modern school built in the village of Djino .

Unadvantaged Women's Training
Job training is an important activity within the FIAFED. With the help of experienced FIAFED and IMEXIN staff members, teen moms, single mothers, widows and other disadvantaged women have enrolled in this free six-month program to gain intensive training on computer applications, empowering them to become financially independent. Under the leadership of Ir̮'̬ne Maloba Kayembe, FIAFED also offers a free cutting and sewing program for women in Kinshasa, the capital, at its headquarters in Kintambo that teaches how to cut, assemble and finish all types of clothing. In addition to providing new skills to women, this successful program is designed to make them possess creativity that is important to good self-image and confidence.
