History
In the museum, along with household items belonging to the Hajibeyov family, Uzeyir's personal belongings, photographs, books, books dedicated to him and the museum were exhibited in the exhibition. In 1985, the 100th anniversary of Uzeyir Hajibeyov was celebrated by UNESCO, guests from various countries of the world. They visited Hajibeyov's house museum in Shusha where festive occasions were held.
On May 8, 1992, the museum stopped its activities after the Shusha occupation by Armenian troops. From the museum exhibit, personal belongings from Hajibeyov were brought to Baku. Currently they are kept in the fund of U.Hajibeyov house museum in Baku. The exhibition brought from Shusha consists of: Uzeyir Bey's personal items, childhood caps, costumes, sunglasses, coat, violin played at Gori Seminary, writing accessories, ink-pot, pencil, personal album, photo, his mother's bride Shirinbayim khanim dressed, a book dedicated to the life and creativity of Hajibeyov. One of the most valuable exhibits brought to Baku is a handful of Shusha land from a pear tree, Uzeyir bey's favorite in the museum yard.
