Jubilee: The X-Tinction of Storytelling
src: 4.bp.blogspot.com

Jubilation "Jubilee" Lee is a fictional superhero that appears in the American comic book published by Marvel Comics, most commonly associated with X-Men. Created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Marc Silvestri, the character first appeared on The Uncanny X-Men # 244 (May 1989).

Jubilee is a member of a human subspecies known as a mutant, born with superhuman abilities. He can produce a blast of pyrotechnic energy from his hand. Introduced as an orphaned "mall" of Beverly Hills, Jubilee joined X-Men in the early 1990s, becoming the team's youngest member and often playing the sidekick role for his father, Wolverine.

Jubilee finally joined the Generation X junior team, and was the main character in the 1990s animated X-Men animation series. In late 2004, Marvel launched a self-titled, six-part series for Jubilee in Los Angeles, written by Robert Kirkman. In early 2011, he appeared in a limited series of four sections of Wolverine and Jubilee, written by Kathryn Immonen.

The character is one of the derived mutants that then reappears using a technology-based power in the New Warriors comic book series. In 2010, he transformed into a vampire during the storyline "The Mutant Curse".

Jubilee has a cameo appearance in the first three X-Men movies, portrayed by Katrina Florece in the first film, and by Kea Wong in two sequels. In the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse , she is portrayed by Lana Condor.

Riwayat publikasi

Jubilee was created by writer Chris Claremont and artist Marc Silvestri and first appeared on The Uncanny X-Men # 244 (May 1989). Claremont has previously introduced a kind of "Jubilee" in New Mutants Annual # 2 (1986). In the story, Darla of the Fat Boys, after being mentally and biologically curved, uses a power that is identical with those of Lee Jubilation later and introduces himself as "Yubilee! Every movement is a celebration!" In his first appearance, Jubilation Lee gave the same self-introduction: "Actually, my name is Jubilee! For me, every day is a celebration!" Darla is returned to normal at the end of New Annual Mutual # 2, and no story connections between characters ever made.

The Jubilee appeared regularly as a member of the X-Men team at The Uncanny X-Men via issue # 280 (September 1991), and then became the subject of X-Men ) (1991) as a member of the X-Men's Blue Team. During the same time span, he also served as Wolverine sidekick at Wolverine (volume 2) # 40-75 (1991-1993).

After the Phalanx Covenant storyline in X-Men (vol 2) # 16-17 and The Uncanny X-Men # 316-317, Jubilee, who was still a teenager, transferred to the X-Men Generation X squad trainee and starred in the run of Generation X # 1-75 (1994-2001). After the dissolution of Generation X, Jubilee returns to the pages of The Uncanny X-Men , first as a member of X-Corporation (# 403-406, 2002), and then as a team member in his own (# 423 -437, 2003-2004). Jubilee has six limited editions titled self-titled in 2004 written by Robert Kirkman, but lost his mutant power in House of M-The Day After (January 2006). He then adopted the Wondra alias and merged with the reclaimed New Warriors at New Warriors (vol 4) # 1-20 (2007-2009).

Jubilee is affected by vampires during the Mutual Curse in X-Men (vol 3) # 1 (July 2010) and remains a sporadic character on the title through edition # 27 (April 2012), as well as supporting characters within < i> X-23 (vol 3) (2010-2011). In 2011, he saw a print in the limited edition of his fourth limited edition, Wolverine and Jubilee written by Kathyrn Immonen and drawn by Phil Noto. Jubilee has recently been featured as a regular character in all-women X-Men (vol 4) # 1-25 (2013-2015), and as a supporting character in Patsy Walker, aka Hellcat ! (2016).

Fictional character biography

Origins

Daughter of two prosperous Chinese immigrants, Jubilation "Jubilee" Lee was born in Beverly Hills, California, where she lives with her wealthy parents. A very talented gymnast, he is believed to have the potential to participate in the Olympics. However, his life was devastated when his parents were killed by assassins Reno and Molokai.

Jubilee is sent to an orphanage, but he runs away and hides in Hollywood malls, stealing food to survive. He first discovers his mutant power to produce a blinding and explosive energy explosion (what he calls "fireworks") while escaping from mall security. The escape stress of the security guards caused the Jubilee to emit a huge burst of light energy while in the back alley. It really confuses people and lets it run away. After knowing his mutant ability, he realizes that he can make money by using his power to entertain customers at the mall.

Security mall seeks to end his unauthorized appearance, but he always avoids them. They hired M-Squad, a professional mutant hunt company, to arrest him. Jubilee was rescued by members of X-Men Dazzler, Psylocke, Rogue, and Storm. Intrigued with the ladies, he tracked them down to the portal that led back to their base in the Outback and stepped inside.

Jubilee remains hiding in the base, because he has never heard of X-Men and does not know how they will react to his presence. She steals food and borrows clothes from some X-Men to make temporary costumes for herself. He is attacked by a cybernetic dog, and is forced to use his power to defend himself by blowing up the monster. This is the first time Jubilee learns his power can do any real damage, though reton then has its first manifestation that causes destruction on the same scale.

Sneaking around the caves at the Outback base, the Jubilee watch X-Man Wolverine being captured and tortured by Reavers. Yubilee is afraid of Reavers, but can not convince her to leave fellow human beings for such suffering. During a break from the torture session, Jubilee helps Wolverine return to his hideout in the compound, where he does his best to take care of him back to health. Before Wolverine really recovered, he and Jubilee were forced to leave their shelters when the Reverers hunted them down. The couple escaped and walked to Madripoor. They fought with the hands of Mandarin and Matsu'o Tsurayaba. Jubilee holds his own while fighting against a highly skilled Hand, and blows up the castle part of the Mandarin with his powers when he, along with Wolverine and Psylocke, is held captive.

After that, Jubilee worked with Wolverine on several of his missions around the world. He does not handle traveling well, because he wants American food and luxury. He helped Wolverine in battle when he became involved with a well-meaning but violent mercenary.

Along with Wolverine and Psylocke, the Jubilee fought with Hardcase and Harriers. He also meets Black Widow and participates in a mission to save some New Mutants from abducted Genosha. Against his protests, Wolverine put him in charge of Boom Boom and Rictor and met X-Factor. The three survive in the streets of the island country before meeting other X-Men. After meeting X-Men, he traveled with them to the Shi'ite Empire, but was captured by Warskrulls. He also got under the control of the Shadow King, along with X-Men and many others.

Wolverine and X-Men

Wolverine brings Jubilee to Professor Xavier at X-Mansion, who welcomes the girl with open arms. He and Wolverine developed a father-son relationship close to each other. Because of this relationship, Jubilee is referred to as the unofficial sidekick of Wolverine.

Jubilee finds a home with X-Men, and joins the X-Men Blue Team. He helps his mutant mutants in battles against Omega Red, Shiite Empire, Skrulls, and Brood, among others. With the last three, he holds his own against many powerful entities, often an important factor in saving fellow X-Men and/or innocent civilians. She forms a close bond with many of the team members, taking a ride on the horses with Beast as she enjoys her jumping ability. When Professor Xavier temporarily regains the use of his feet, he brings him roller skates. He has a chance to talk about Wolverine with Shadowcat, who has been a sidekick role before, and binds to the younger Illyana Rasputin. Jubilee then mourns the loss of Illyana with other X-Men members, especially Jean Gray.

Along with X-Men, Jubilee is captured by Omega Red, Matsu'o Tsuryaba, and Fenris. He also fought with Sabretooth during this meeting. Along with Wolverine, he later fought with Mojo (see Abcissa), and was arrested in Tokyo for speeding and driving without a license. There he meets Yukio, and team up with him against Cylla Markham. He helps X-Men and Ghost Rider against Brood. Jubilee then travels with X-Men to Mojoworld.

During one adventure, the Jubilee falls in the middle of the time portal and watches the moment when the murderer arrives at his home to kill his parents. Knowing the names and faces of his parents' killers for the first time, Jubilee plans to kill them, but Wolverine talks about them. Shortly after, Wolverine left X-Men. He does not give Jubilee the option to come with him, instead of leaving him a note that repeatedly emphasizes that he must remain with Professor Xavier and not go out alone again. Though he maintained his usual gallant attitude in the weeks that followed, the other X-Men realized that he felt somewhat abandoned by Wolverine who was gone.

Generation X

Jubilee left X-Men to join a new group of adolescent mutants known as Generation X. The team is led by Banshee and Emma Frost, and initially consists of Jubilee, Husk, Synch, M, and Skin, with Chamber, Penance, Mondo, and Gaia joined the series. The team also became a safe place for three young wards during their adventures: Artie Maddicks, Leech, and while, Franklin Richards.

Both Banshee and Emma Frost educate teenagers in school subjects as well as combat and field skills (with the occasional help of visiting instructors such as Wolverine and Beast). Jubilee and other mutant teenagers hone their unique abilities and occasional enemy battles such as Juggernaut, Omega Red, and their archrival Emplate. From time to time, Jubilee uses his experience with X-Men to help his teammates outsmart their enemies. On more than one occasion, Jubilee is responsible for the defeat of Emplate. He uses sarcasm when Emplate sucks his powers so that he will become very angry to have no control over them, causing him to blow himself up with a Jubilee energy blast. During the team's last meeting with Emplate, Jubilee used his power to blow up Proudstar Hall to defeat him. His teammates survived the big explosion because Iceman protected them with ice shields.

During his stay at the Massachusetts Academy, Jubilee was kidnapped and taken hostage by the Bastion during Operation: Zero Tolerance. He managed to hold his mental probe for a long time, hiding valuable information about X-Men. The jubilee started a runaway early, crashing into some armed soldiers who were unconscious with a huge volley. However, he was arrested again when he stopped giving CPR to one of the wounded guards. He finally escaped with the help of Bastion's assistant, Daria. While wandering in the desert after his holiday, he was attacked by the Sentinel Prime and held it himself by blowing up his vision receptor. He was saved at the last minute by Wolverine, who united him with X-Men. After discovering the Bastion had planted nano-explosive inside the Cyclops, X-Men came home, dropping the Jubilee at the Massachusetts Academy on the way.

One of the most important episodes of his stay with Generation X came when he discovered the true killer of his parents, Hunter Brawn. He performed the operation, using his mutant strength, and innate ability and ability to track Brawn. With the help of his friends and teammates, he managed to defeat him. Angered at how he destroyed his family, the Jubilee's power radiated to an enormous level, but instead of killing the man, he launched his aggression by blowing up his arsenal, letting him be captured by the local authorities.

After Generation X

After Generation X broke up, Jubilee moved to Los Angeles with his former teammate, Skin, to pursue an acting career. He was thrown only in the stereotypical role of Asia, and after his agent tried to seduce him, he hit him with a powerful energy explosion.

Around the same time, Jubilee was offered a position on the Banshee X-Corps team, along with former Husk and M teammates. The three young women hesitantly joined Banshee to watch him. During its run with the X-Corps, Jubilee resisted the uprising in Paris by blinding enemy enemies. Jubilee and Husk, with the help of Stacy X, also managed to lower the Blob and save the Banshee from Mystique.

After his time at X-Corps, Jubilee returned to Los Angeles with Skin, but both (together with Magma and another mutant) were kidnapped and crucified on the front page of X-Mansion by the Church of Humanity. Jubilee, Magma, and others recover from the attack thanks to Angel's healing blood, but Skin is not so lucky. Jubilee became depressed by the loss of his friend, and reunited with Husk. Both, along with Angel, attend Skin's funeral. Since the jars will not let the mutant be buried in his grave, he has cremated the skin and hands of the Yubilee into ashes. Afterwards, Jubilee went on several missions with Nightcrawler and Havok's Uncanny X-Men team, but removed the active list when Cyclops decided he needed a mental break.

While not active, the jubilee was contacted by his long lost relative, his aunt, Hope. Hope decides to adopt the Jubilee and bring it to her home in Los Angeles, which gives Jubilee a much needed break from the life of X-Mansion. Jubilee attends Payton Noble High School and counsels with colleagues. He was involved in several fights at school, and was rebuked for his power screen. He also befriended a mutant named Shane Shooter, and helped him bring down a gang leader. Unfortunately for Jubilee, her aunt is caught in a crime ring, because she is a murderer. While Wolverine visits Jubilee, they both - along with Hope (and his butler Brad) - are involved in a battle with former Hope boss. Hope is caught in a violent explosion and appears to be dead (he was later revealed to have been thrown away by the explosion, revealing his cybernetic nature), causing the Jubilee to be desperate to return to X-Mansion with Wolverine, where he is seen celebrating Christmas Day.

Decimation and aftermath

The Jubilee is revealed to have lost its power on M-Day, due to the power that changed the reality of the Scarlet Witch. He returned to New York shortly after running a half-way house for a mutant stranded in Queens, New York, and abducted by Omega Red and his men while Wolverine was distracted during the battle. He was taken to Berlin as a hostage. Wolverine successfully used S.H.I.E.L.D. to find the Jubilee, but he was beaten and badly wounded. Logan trades its freedom from S.H.I.E.L.D. for the safety and well-being of Jubilee. She was taken away in a medical unit by S.H.I.E.L.D. cooperative.

The Jubilee subsequently reappears as Wondra, the second commander of one of the incarnations of the New Warriors. He uses superpower-based technology (supplied by what appears to be a variation of The Wizard's "Wonder Gauntlet") that is capable of lifting a locomotive engine over his head. Recruited as the first member, Jubilee takes a more serious stance for his role as Wondra and serves alongside X-Men and former teammates Decibel and Stacy X. Jubilee does not trust Night Thrasher and uncovers evidence that he used the team for less noble reasons, and after a trip into the future, the former mutant leaves the team in the hands of a former member of the Initiative (Slapstick, Justice, Ultra Girl, et al.).

After leaving the New Warriors, he returned to San Francisco and met a group of young mutants of his age, who told him about Utopia, the island's home for mutants. Jubilee reaffirmed his identity as a mutant, despite being deficient, but still refuses to join X-Men in Utopia.

Mutant Curse

Cyclops sends Pixie to check Jubilee, and while the girls are chatting, Jubilee is one of the many people who are infected en masse with a biological engineering virus by a vampire suicide bomber. Jubilee was taken to X-Men headquarters, where they carried out tests on him, confirming that the virus was slowly but surely transforming itself into a vampire, making it less capable of handling sunlight. Meanwhile, others infected by the virus quickly turn into full-fledged vampires and begin to enforce the mysterious "Lord of Vampires" plan.

Later, while speaking with Doctor Nemesis (James Bradley), Jubilee reveals that there is something calling him, which Doctor Nemesis tells him to fight back. Jubilee finally tells him that he does not want to fight. Long later, when X-Men gathered to discuss Dracula's death and learn who the new Lord of Vampires was, Dr. Kavita Rao is seen examining him, only to be attacked. Wolverine then feeds some of his blood, because the healing factor makes him wild. It is also revealed that Rockslide has a crush on Jubilee and follows him and Wolverine to Siberia to save him from the vampire cult.

Jubilee left Utopia to go see Xarus, who bit him. It was also revealed that Xarus only wanted a Jubilee so X-Men could come to his rescue and fall into the trap, especially Wolverine. Jubilee managed to turn into a vampire and while doing the same to Wolverine after he came to save her. He remains a vampire and is held in a prison cell under Utopia for observation, with Cyclops and Wolverine reject Blade's suggestion that killing him is the only solution.

Touching the Dark

On Gambit's orders, Wolverine goes to Paris, bringing the Jubilee with him. There, the tension between Jubilee and X-23 (traveling with Gambit) is on. Meanwhile, Gambit talks with Wolverine about the difference between how he treats Jubilee and X-23, both of whom see him as a father figure. Jubilee soon began developing friendships with X-23s because of their similar circumstances, with the latter helping him handle his desire to kill, while Jubilee in turn helped Laura learn how to become a "normal" girl. He is then taken by a group of vampires called Forgiveness, who have learned to move beyond their need for blood and can move during the day, as a student. Marvel_NOW.21 "> Marvel NOW!

Jubilee returns to X-Men with an orphan baby, whom he names Shogo, who is infected by Arkea. During the Battle of the Atom event, Sentinel X (a future X-Men member) is revealed as an adult Shogo. Both spent quality time together after the death of the future Jubilee and the defeat of the Mutual Ikhwanul. After that, Storm informed him that the adoption paper had been through, legally making a mother Jubilee from Shogo.

Revert back to mutant

After Monet fell under the influence of his sister, Emplate, and attacked the school, he fought with the Jubilee and took the medal he used as protection from the sun. Monet then throws him out of school and when the sun begins to burn the Jubilee, Quentin Quire sacrifices a fragment of the Phoenix Army he brings in himself to save him from certain deaths, heals the Jubilee of his vampire and restores his mutant forces in the process.

Strength and ability

Jubilee has various strengths as mutants, helpless humans, and then as vampires.

The strength of the mutant

Being a mutant, Jubilee has the power to produce plasmoids of pyrotechnic energy from its hands. He called this explosion "fireworks". Plasmoids obeys his mental control, travels where he directs them, organizes themselves in various forms, and explodes when he wished. The strength of the explosion varies in strength and intensity, and can range from many colorful sparks that can blind a person for a while, to powerful detonations capable of destroying objects and destroying property, or precision explosions in the human brain, simulating the effects of large strokes. The jubilee can also absorb energy back to its own body without harm.

During training in Generation X, Emma Frost described Jubilee as having unexperienced ability to blast material at subatomic levels, which is theoretically the same as nuclear fusion bombs. His moral stance in taking a life was observed by Emma during the Phalanx Treaty, when Jubilee explained his fear of killing someone if his power continued again, as they did during the Acts of Revenge Story on Uncanny X-Men (he destroyed the house mandarin in a big bang, out of sadness after believing that Wolverine had been killed). Emma states that Jubilee has unlimited potential and is one of the most powerful mutants that she has ever encountered. The alternative Jubilee Age of Apocalypse has little doubt in terms of using its power, and using its full liberal capabilities.

In its early appearances, Jubilee also showed immunity to telepathy, but this was soon abandoned by the authors. He, at times, uses this ability to hide himself from telepathic scans and block the mental probes from Sentinel. Does he know this ability remains unhandled.

In the aftermath of the House of M, the Jubilee is one of many mutants to be understood, but he is like regaining his strength again.

As Wondra

Jubilee is one of the mutants deported by M-Day. He fell into deep depression after losing his strength, through some work before joining the New Warriors. During this time, he is known by the alias "Wondra".

After joining the Warriors team after the New World War, Wondra acquired the advanced technology of the Night Thrasher to replace his mutant ability, giving him superhuman strength. While the upper limit of this power is not explored, the technology allows Wondra to lift the freight train machine over its head. Wondra's power suit and gloves also boost him with limited immunity, as well as the ability to fly with flying discs.

Vampire abilities

Jubilee also gained vampire power from his transformation by the bite of Xarus, son of Dracula. Its strength includes the power and speed of the superhuman, and the ability to transform into steam. There is a chance he can heal much faster than humans. As a vampire, Jubilee now has all the weaknesses of a vampire. However he uses a medal made by Xarus that allows all vampires to retain sunlight. Quentin Quire then apparently healed the Jubilee from his vampire status after using the shards of the Phoenix Army he brought to save him from certain deaths, restoring his mutant power in the process.

Default nature and capabilities

Jubilee is a talented gymnast and an in-line skater. While living alone, he uses his skills to avoid arrest while stealing to survive, first from various stores in the mall and later at Australia's X-Men's base. He is also featured above the average hand-to-hand combat skill, having learned the techniques of street fighting while in the Los Angeles County Juvenile Hall, and further trained by Wolverine. His skills are enough to survive the fight with the Hands. He also demonstrated strong leadership skills, often placed in field commander role by Banshee during closing time with Generation X, and acting as a drill-sergeant figure for the newest New Warriors team.

In the case of comic Wolverine , it is stated that Jubilee suffers from dyscalculia.
