An in-law is a person who has a legal interest with others by being a parent of another person's spouse. Many cultures and legal systems impose duties and responsibilities on the people connected by this relationship. A person is a son-in-law or a daughter-in-law of her spouse's parents, who is also the parent of her brother-in-law and brother-in-law (if any) who are brothers of the couple (as opposed to sibling couples). Together members of this family affinity group are called in-laws.
