Roland Lee Gift (born May 28, 1961) is a British singer, songwriter and actor. He is the lead vocalist of the band Fine Young Cannibals, which became famous in the mid-1980s.

Biography
Prize was born in Sparkhill in Birmingham, England, to a white mother and a black father, and lived in that city until the age of 11. He then moved to Hull, where his mother, Pauline, runs several used clothing stores. He was educated at Kelvin Hall School in Hull.
The prize has two sisters, Helga and Jay, and one brother, Paul.
One of his sons, Louis's son, performs in an experimental acrobatic circus company, Barely Methodical Troupe.
Akeylykz and Fine Young Cannibals
His first recording, in which he plays saxophone, is with Hull ska band Akrylykz; the second release on York's Red Rhino Records. Although this record did not work, it brought it to the attention of Andy Cox and David Steele of the Beat. Akrylykz toured with Beat, which caused them, around 1985, to ask him to become their new band vocalist Fine Young Cannibals after their old band, the Beat, had broken up. She is also a guest artist on Ska City Rockers singles "Time Is Tight".
In 1990, he was named by the People magazine as one of the "50 Most Beautiful People" in the world.
Solo Career
The prize has appeared as a solo artist again, performing at the Rewind Festival in Henley. On February 13, 2012, Gift appeared on BBC Radio Solent promoting the show and announcing a potential new album in 2012. It will be the soundtrack for a movie involving Gift. "The Prisoner" was played on the show and Roland said this might be included in the soundtrack.
He also appeared in the 20th anniversary of 'Hootenanny' from Jools Holland, which was broadcast all night on BBC2 on December 31, 2012/1 January 2013, the latter being recorded at BBC Television Center. The prize sang Fine Young Cannibals hits 'Good Thing' and 'Suspicious Minds'.
Prize is a guest vocalist on 2013 Jools Holland tour.

Action
In 1987, Gift had her first screen role in Sammy and Rosie Get Laid movies, and also appeared on Out of Order in the same year. In 1990 he performed his first stage work, playing Romeo in the production of the Hull Truck Theater of Shakespeare Romeo and Juliet, a short production run in the United States at the Staller Center for the Arts. She also appeared as a lounge singer (singing songs included in the Fine Young Cannibals album The Raw and the Cooked) in the 1987 movie Tin Men, directed by Barry Levinson.
In 1989, he appeared on the Scandal as Johnny Edgecombe, boyfriend Christine Keeler.
In December 1992, he started the first of five appearances as the evil Immortal Xavier St. Cloud in the Highlander: The Series television series, and appeared in an episode of the Yorkshire Television series Heartbeat. She also has a small role as jazz saxophonist Eddie Mullen in the mini-series Painted Lady (1997), starring Helen Mirren, and appearing in the movie The Island of the Mapmaker Wife (2001).
